Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week
It’s Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week [3-9 May] and as part of this we’d like to share some beautiful work from our most recent My Time My Space course which ran from Jan-March this year.
My Time My Space offers a novel approach to the treatment of Perinatal mental health, using creativity in a group setting.
“I can see the fun in day-to-day activities
and able to relax a little without worry.”“It’s shown me I can speak to new people
and that I’m not alone feeling the way I do.”
The project was developed and is delivered in partnership with the Bright Start Children’s Centres, the Health Visiting Team and Adult Community Learning at Bath College and socially engaged artist Kerry Russell, and has been running since 2004.
Perinatal mental health problems are those which occur during pregnancy or in the first year following the birth of a child and it affects up to 20% of new and expectant mums and covers a wide range of conditions.
If you’d like to know when the next sessions are running in B&NES please contact philippa@creativityworks.org.uk.
