Mental Health Support in Bath and North East Somerset

Today is World Mental Health Day. Across social media and online you’ll see lots of wonderful support and resources available both nationally and internationally. We’d like to highlight the support for residents of Bath and North East Somerset, including workshops, online resources and one-to-one support. For monthly updates about new creative wellbeing workshops, events and projects please sign up to our newsletter.

Community Wellbeing Hub, Compassionate Community

If you live in Bath and North East Somerset and need help, then you can call the Community Wellbeing Hub on 0300-247-0050 (9am – 5pm Weekdays). There is a professional triage team that can identify and link you to local services or resources offering support.

Breathing Space, Bath Mind

A calm, non-clinical service, supporting individuals experiencing or at risk of a mental health crisis. Staffed by a team with a broad range of experience in mental health issues, they offer a compassionate listening ear and signposting to relevant services.

01225 983130, open Monday-Thursday evenings between 5.30pm and 11.30pm.

Face-to-face service
Open Monday-Sunday evenings from 18:00-22:30 at Oasis Church, Fountain Buildings, Bath, BA1 5DU.

If you want to use the service, you need to be referred/self-refer before 17:00 on the same day. You can do this by phoning (and leaving a message) on 01225 983130 or emailing breathingspace@bathmind.org.uk. You will be called between 17:00-18:00 to be told your space and time.

Opening Hours: 5.30pm to 11.30pm each evening 7 days a week

Creative Wellbeing Workshops

Radstock Wellbeing Group

An inclusive and supportive community group encouraging positive mental health through conversation and creative activities, whilst enjoying the delights of the Swallow’s Cafe! The sessions are supported by Bath Mind staff and volunteers. Meets every Tuesday 11am – 1pm at The Swallows Café in Midsomer Norton.

Weekly craft group with Bath Mind

‘Crafty Minds’ is a new creative wellbeing group with Bath Mind. Meets every Monday, 1:30 – 3:30pm at The Hive, Bath Road, Peasedown Saint John, Bath, BA2 8DH.

Enjoy fun and relaxed crafting with a focus on wellbeing and enjoying creativity together. Each session costs just £3 to cover materials. To join please email wellbeing@bathmind.org.uk or phone 07538 113890.

Free drop-in workshops with Little Lost Robot Studio

No need to book, just pop by and enjoy some creative time for all skill levels in a friendly environment.No skills needed, just a willingness to give it a go.

Free Training: Employability Skills and Writing for Wellbeing

Good mental health is a key part to tackling the next step of your education and training. This programme includes online writing for wellbeing sessions.
17th October to 25th November or 15th November to 9th December

The training aims to improve the employability skills of young people who have a disability, while being fun and enjoyable.
There will be ten online sessions held via Microsoft Teams and five online Writing for Wellbeing sessions via Zoom.
Once these sessions end we will support every learner for up to three months into employment, training, volunteering, or further education.
