World Mental Health Festival – Director’s Praise

A few words from our Director on the World Mental Health Festival held on Saturday (the 7th Sept) at Bath City Farm:

The sense of community and engagement at World Mental Health Day was tangible. With stalls and activities dotted around all over Bath City Farm and loads of volunteers making Saturday’s event possible it was a fantastic occasion for all involved. From Splat the Rat with the Carers Forum to Healing in the Farm’s log cabin; there were performances on the stage just beyond the field of miniature goats and clay designs with Artist Andrew Eddleston, creating a glorious combined work. The event was busy and exciting and full of celebration for the positive work taking place in the field of mental health.

My thanks go out to St Mungo’s and all the volunteers from New Hope, as much as to my colleagues here at Creativity Works for pulling together such a great event. My thanks also to Bath City Farm for playing host to this multi-faceted event. World Mental Health Day is about celebrating the positive and this event did exactly that. But why limit ourselves to just one day? Let’s remember that every day, behind every hay-bale there is a new adventure to be shared.
