What do you love about Radstock?

Have you ever fallen in love in Radstock?

Where are the places you love most in Radstock?

Who are the people most special to you in Radstock?

Love Letters to Radstock is an exciting and engaging new arts project delivered by Creativity Works, an arts organization who have been based in the town for more than 30 years.

“We want to hear your stories of why you love Radstock so much, to celebrate the people and places of the town, and to join together to create amazing and lasting public artworks that bring a sense of joy, celebration and civic pride,” said Oliver Jones, Director, Creativity Works.

Working alongside two artists – Ellie Shipman and Alicia Ridley, Creativity Works invites, you, the community of Radstock, to join us at letter writing stations throughout the town where you will be able to create your own love letters on larger-than-life envelopes and have a photo taken with it to post on social media. These letters will be transformed into beautiful, aluminum panels and dotted about the town in people’s favourite locations.

Stunning maps will be created by local community groups detailing the locations and creating a love trail for residents and visitors alike to walk and enjoy into the future.

And what will be at the end of the trail? The Angel of Radstock – A striking and magnificent terracotta sculpture created by the community, bearing the names of those they love and those who’ve inspired them written on the intricate clay wings. A truly beautiful monument of everything we love about Radstock.

The first workshops are taking place at the Radstock Community Hub and Library on Tuesday 18th February [Love Letter Writing with Ellie Shipman] from 11.30 – 15.30 and on Tuesday 25th February [Clay Making for the Angel of Radstock with Alicia Ridley] from 10.00 – 14.00. Both are drop-in sessions and you don’t need to book – just turn up! More dates will be announced soon…

If  you can’t make the workshop you can fill out a digital Love Letter to Radstock here: RadstockLoveLetter
